SAINT LOUIS SCOTT GALLAGHER
St. Louis Scott Gallagher and the SLSG ECNL Program would like to congratulate and celebrate Kirsten Davis and Channing Foster. Drafted 13th and 32nd overall, Davis and Foster become the first and second players drafted in St. Louis Scott Gallagher ECNL program history. Davis and Foster both played on the 1998-99 ECNL team winning the first ECNL trophy for the St. Louis Scott Gallagher, the North American Cup in 2016.
Davis was drafted 13th by Racing Louisville FC. The 2019 First Team All-American, just finished up her fourth season in the Big 12. Currently, she ranks in the Top 10 of nearly ten different categories of Texas Tech’s Record Books. Coming in at #4 in Texas Tech Career Points with 27 goals (#5 ranked), and 15 assists (#7 ranked), Davis will be looking to bring her goalscoring prowess to Louisville after finishing her collegiate career. Previously, Davis has spent time with the USWNT U18 and U20 camps. According to Davis, SLSG will always be special to her. “SLSG will always be in my heart and I am forever thankful to be a part of this club. It has shaped me into the player I am today. SLSG helped me prepare for college soccer and I am grateful to have been a part of the club and experience the culture.”
With the 32nd pick of the draft, the Chicago Red Stars brought Channing Foster back to Chicago. Foster played with Eclipse SC from 2012-2015, where she won the 2014 ECNL National Championship. In 2015 Foster moved to St. Louis Scott Gallagher, where she and Davis were teammates on the 2016 North American Cup winning squad. At Ole Miss, Foster has been twice named All-SEC First Team (2020, 2019), All-Southeast Region (Second in 2019, Third 2018). Foster has also spent time with the USWNT, having scored the game-winning goal (coincidentally against the Chicago Red-Stars), in the 2019 Thorns Spring International. Speaking on her time with SLSG, Foster was very grateful. “I’m so grateful for the time I spent at SLSG. The Program welcomed me with open arms and provided constant support in my road to recovery. I owe my college career to them, because they opened the door for me to Ole Miss.”
Both players plan to return to NCAA Soccer next year, to exhaust their NCAA eligibility. St. Louis Scott Gallagher ECNL Director Ralph Richards had this to say about Davis and Foster’s achievements, “Both Kirsten and Channing added quality and more importantly, good character to what was already a talented group of young ladies. Both players were destined to go on after college to fulfill their lifelong dreams of becoming professional soccer players. I am so proud and look forward to seeing their growth at the next level in the Spring of 2022.”
