SLSG Illinois U6-U10 Youth Soccer Age Group Director/Coach

Full Job Description


St. Louis Scott Gallagher (SLSG) is seeking an age group director/coach for a full-time, salaried position. The SLSG Age Director has the primary task of player development, on field coaching, and player recruitment in their age groups. The age group director will also be actively involved in community programs and camps when applicable. 


This role is not only about the development of players within the club, but also about working with people in the club and surrounding communities. This position can expect to work with fellow SLSG Staff, volunteer coaches and managers, youth players and their families, in addition to other clubs or organizations. 


This will be both a technical and management position with the primary focus on growing the club in these respective age groups and providing a high-quality experience for players in our Juniors and Community Programs. 


The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset, high work ethic, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a positive, team- oriented approach. 


Age Group Director/ Coach Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate soccer training sessions using the club curriculum
  • Foster a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where children feel motivated and rewarded
  • Lead training sessions that ensure players have fun, are challenged, and are supported in their individual development
  • Use positive reinforcement and clear communication to connect with players and families
  • Work collaboratively with parents, fellow coaches, and staff while being open to feedback and direction.
  • Maintain high standards of both verbal and written communication with players/families, and staff. 
  • Track player progress using Excel, Google Docs, and other tools needed.
  • Lead and assist planning and execution of club training, technical training, and community programming
  • Recruitment and growth of player pool in respective age groups
  • Administrative duties related to the team and club
  • Other club responsibilities such as net day, lining fields, etc.


Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of USSF D License preferred
  • Prior soccer coaching and playing experience
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Comfortable with computer applications such as Excel, Google Docs, etc. 
  • Ability to connect with children, parents, and colleagues in both a positive and engaging way. 
  • Self- motivated and able to work independently
  • Flexible schedule, including evening and weekend availability

TEAM COACHES


St. Louis Scott Gallagher takes great pride in our professional coaching staff. We recruit the best and the brightest in the Region and are one of a few clubs in the country that provides a Staff Development Program. Our Program Directors, Jeff Davis and Scott McDoniel lead and support our coaching staff.  With our staff development platform, our coaches regularly attend licensing and education courses for personal growth and development, both on and off the field.

Requirements
SLSG coaches time commitment typically consists of 2-3 trainings a week, 1 league game on the weekend, and tournament travel. Level of competitive soccer opportunities varies from beginner, intermediary, to advanced.

  • Creve Coeur, MO
  • Collinsville, IL

 

Previous experience in soccer coaching preferred.



PART-TIME STAFFING OPPORTUNITIES

Part-time Performance Coach - Weekends & Weeknights


St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club is looking for a part-time Performance coach to work with our youth athletes. Our mission is to build the best club in the country.  A club that positively impacts the development of our players on and off the field and positively impacts our community.  As the Performance coach, your primary role will be geared towards a “hands-on” coaching experience. You will be responsible for coaching and implementing small group and team performance training, as required by the Director of Performance. This coach will work from the Performance Training Center located at Soccer Park in Fenton, Missouri as well as Collinsville, Illinois. The Performance coach will report directly to the Director of Performance.


Job Duties:


  • Teach athletes correct technique and improve movement efficiency regarding linear and multi-directional speed development, strength training, plyometric training, and functional mobility/stability.
  • Responsible for the implementation of strength training programs to improve the performance of the athletes.
  • Lead daily training sessions.
  • Maintain facility upkeep.
  • Participate in program design, in collaboration with the Director of Performance.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and can demonstrate adaptability in an S&C environment.
  • Compensation will be based on experience and/or education.


General Requirements:


  • Possess a high level of professionalism.
  • Work with a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Interested in strength & conditioning.
  • Ability to command large groups.
  • Experience working with youth athletes.


Preferred Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree or currently enrolled in Exercise Science or a related field.
  • Current strength and conditioning or personal training certification (NSCA-CSCS, NASM, ACSM, etc).
  • Master’s degree in exercise science, sports science, kinesiology, or health-related field.


Food and Beverage


St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club is accepting applications for the part time positions for the Concession Stands and Kitchen at the WWT Soccer Park located in Fenton, MO.

Responsibilities

The Concessions Worker positions support the management of the day-to-day operations of the concession facilities.


Several positions are available:

  • Cash Register Attendant
  • Concessions Stocker
  • Food Prep Stations
  • Concessions Cook


The WWT Soccer Park Concessions operations are a fun and many times face-paced environment. This requires our staff to follow the instructions, guidance, and direction of management and supervisor personnel as they pertain to the policies, procedures, and rules of the facilities.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.30 - $13.00 per hour

SLSG FAN SHOP

Position: Saint Louis Scott Gallagher Fan Shop Associate


SLSG Fan Shop Associate Job Description: 

Fan shop associates are responsible for assisting our over 4,000 club members with merchandise questions as they shop our store. The SLSG Fan Shop is an essential piece of our club and provides our members and their families with everything they need on and off the pitch. 


SLSG Fan Shop Associate duties and responsibilities:

  • Greeting customers
  • Assisting with questions on merchandise availability
  • Enforcing store policies well as other 
  • Answering Scott Gallagher Soccer Club related questions. 
  • Maintaining inventory levels on the sales floor
  • Processing Online Orders
  • Use of the Square Register System to process sales
  • Light cleaning (sweeping, wiping down counters & windows)


Fan Shop Associate skills and qualifications:

  • Basic Math Skills
  • Excellent communication skills a must
  • Able to enforce store policies and explain store promotions
  • Ability to learn and run the register system
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Patience when working through difficult situations
  • Understanding of soccer is a plus, but not required
  • Be available to work evenings and weekends
