MERCY SPORTS MEDICINE

Mercy Sports Medicine - SLSG Athletic Trainer

Mercy Sports Medicine Athletic Trainers perform preventive care, examination/injury screening, provide diagnoses, treatment, and rehabilitation of emergent, acute, or chronic injuries and medical conditions.

They conduct initial on-site assessments of injuries/conditions that occur during training or competitions for any SLSG athlete. From those initial assessments, they will determine the course of action which includes but it not limited to return to play with or without modification, removal from play, immediate treatment, referral to ED, UC, or a physician.

If an injury/condition warrants a physician referral, they will connect the athlete and their parents with the appropriate medical professional and assist them through the process, all the way through the athlete’s return to play. Mercy Sports Medicine Athletic Trainers can and will develop individualized rehabilitation programs for athletes and gradually progress them until they are ready for a full return to play.

Mercy Sports Medicine prides themselves on being proactive which is crucial in obtaining optimal results. They look to address the underlying causes of injuries, and not just what is presenting on the surface. Mercy Co-workers take the time to address the underlying causes ensuring a more successful outcome for all, allowing everyone to compete at their highest level.
