ST. LOUIS – Ken Godat and Eric Schmidt of St. Louis Scott Gallagher will be making a mission trip to Honduras from February 28 to March 5. They will hand deliver donated soccer gear, conduct soccer clinics for player and coach development, and provide medical treatment. The club recently received a donation of 300 pairs of shoes that will be delivered during the trip.
Godat and Schmidt will be accompanied by Dr. John Eisenbeis, an ear, nose and throat specialist from St. Louis University Hospital. Eisenbeis and a team of medical professionals will treat around 250 patients with ear, nose and throat problems and perform operations on about 60 patients.
The group is operating through SLSG’s Upper 90 community outreach program, which has created a tradition of giving back. Upper 90 is known for helping local organizations in St. Louis and the surrounding area. Previous mission trip destinations through the upper 90 program include El Salvador, Mexico, Liberia, Haiti, and Brazil.
