ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri has announced an academy partnership with AS Roma of Serie A in Rome, Italy.
“We are honored to partner with such a reputable club like AS Roma,” SLSG Missouri Boys Technical Director Kevin Kalish said. “This relationship will allow all of us at St. Louis Scott Gallagher the opportunity to continue our growth as an organization and ultimately help us achieve our mission of becoming the best youth club in the United States.”
This summer, AS Roma played host to nine elite U.S. soccer academies for a two-day coaching and development summit at the club’s Trigoria Training Center in Rome.
Kip Thompson, Director Soccer Operations for SLSG Missouri Boys, attended the summit on behalf of SLSG.
“The staff and training facility at AS Roma were first-class,” Thompson said. “This partnership will provide an opportunity for SLSG to access AS Roma’s training philosophy and protocols as well as share and exchange best practices with the other participating clubs.”
In January, AS Roma announced the expansion of its renowned youth soccer academy program to the United States.
St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri is one of nine elite U.S. soccer academies that AS Roma will now have a direct, year-round partnership with. The partnership will focus not only on sharing best practices, but also on identifying and developing top-tier players.
“We are very proud to launch our U.S. Academy program and to formalize our partnership with select top-flight U.S. clubs,” AS Roma President James Pallotta said in a statement. “Player development in the United States continues to be a top priority for us. We are confident this initiative will be great for the country and club and produce many star players of tomorrow.”
