SLSG Appoints Herb Schuler as SLSG West Manager

St. Louis, MO (May 15, 2018) – St. Louis Scott Gallagher (SLSG) announced that Herb Schuler has been appointed as the SLSG West Manager effective June 1, 2018.  Herb, who has planned an “Open House” event on June 3rd for SLSG West, will report to the SLSG MO Boys Program Director Kip Thompson as well as the SLSG MO Girls Director of Coaching Scott McDoniel.

Herb has been coaching soccer for nearly 15 years and recently served as a trainer at Lou Fusz Soccer Club.  Previously, he was the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at NCAA-Division 1 school Chicago State University while also serving as the Director of Coaching for the Naperville Soccer Association (NSA) in Chicago.  Herb has his U.S. Soccer Federation National “B” License and he will be instrumental in several areas of SLSG including but not limited to: SLSG West Division Administration and Communication, SLSG West & MO Boys Age Group Coordinator, Club Training, and Soccer School.

Kip Thompson has served as the SLSG West Director for the past two years but was recently appointed the Program Director for the entire SLSG MO Boys Division.  The addition of Schuler will ensure the continued growth and development of SLSG West in the coming years.

“The SLSG West Division was established to serve players, coaches, and families interested in being part of SLSG's holistic approach to player development based upon the Shield Values that raises standards in all aspects of the game,” said Thompson. “We are proud to have so many families from West County and the St. Charles area committed to our mission and determined to build something new within the Club. Herb is forward-thinking, a teacher by trade, and has a passion for this club. I have no doubt he will compliment all that we have established in the West Division and he will enhance the experience for those players and their families."

The club is in the planning phase of both a “Coaches” and “Parents” Meeting for SLSG West to discuss the upcoming season.  In the meantime, all coaches or club members that have questions regarding the SLSG West Division or the club may reach out to Kip Thompson (kthompson@slsgsoccer.com) or Scott McDoniel (smcdoniel@slsgsoccer.com).
