ST. LOUIS, Mo. – St. Louis Scott Gallagher alumnus Mark Segbers signed for the New England Revolution this week after being drafted 9th overall in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft by New England in January.
Segbers joined SLSG as a U11 player and competed on the SLSG Academy team until U18 level. He attended St. John Vianney High School where he was named to the All-Catholic Conference team as a freshman and sophomore and led the team to a MSHSAA State Final in 2011. Segbers was also named to the USSDA U16 Central Conference Team of the Year and participated in the USMNT U18 National Combine in 2013. He attended the University of Wisconsin and made over 77 appearances with 16 goals and 22 assists during his collegiate career while receiving the following honors: Second Team All-Big Ten Conference (2014, 2017); Big Ten Conference All-Academic Honoree (2016); Big Ten Conference All-Freshman Team (2014).
