ST. Louis, MO. – Saint Louis Scott Gallagher announces the appointment of Scott McDoniel as the youth club’s new Girls Program Director. Former SLSG Girls Program Director, Steve Pecher, will remain with the organization serving as the Vice President of Facilities and Coaching in ECNLRL MO.

Scott has spent the last 13 years as the SLSG Missouri Girls Director of Coaching. Prior to coaching at Scott Gallagher, he served as the Head Soccer Coach and Associate Athletic Director at John Burrough School. He has earned a Director of Coaches diploma and a Master Coach and Leadership Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches organization.

“I'm humbled to be given this opportunity, truly humbled.  I have loved working in this club, a club that's been a part of my life one way or another for most of my life,” said Scott. “I have learned so much from the professionals that have spent the better part of ten years guiding and leading SLSG, I only hope I can continue to help the girls program uphold the standards that have been set by the leadership of the past especially my boss and friend Steve Pecher.”

“I am looking forward to having Scott take over the SLSG Girls program. We have been working together for years and I know that he is going to be a great leader for the girls’ program and the club,” said former SLSG Girls Program Director Steve Pecher.

McDoniel grew up playing for Busch Soccer Club, one of the three clubs that merged together to form Saint Louis Scott Gallagher. He attended Saint Louis University where he played on the men’s soccer team. Once graduated, McDoniel began his professional career with the St. Louis Ambush. Scott had stints with the St. Louis Ambush, St. Louis Steamers, St. Louis Knights, Milwaukee Rampage and Carolina Dynamo from 1993-1998 before moving on to coaching. When speaking with Scott about his new role with SLSG he had this to say, “The staff I work with each day is motivated and relentlessly in pursuit of our mission.  They care about the club, the game, the players, and their families.  They are committed to providing a positive experience for all of our members and it's truly a pleasure being around each and every one of them on a daily basis.”

“Scott has a proven track record of success both on the field and in our community. His leadership ability, work ethic and drive are a natural fit for this position.  Scott has played an integral part of creating one of the most successful girl’s programs in the country and we look forward to seeing him grow even more in his new role,” said SLSG President Brad Davis.
