2019 Turkey Bowl Recap

2019 Turkey Bowl Recap

The purpose of the Turkey Bowl was to celebrate our Upper 90 Community Outreach program and we most certainly did that! We are so impressed yet again by players working in the community.

  • Sutton Clancy from Roma 2011 held a Juggle A Thon that raised $525!
  • Luke Butler from 2006 Elite held a Ping Pong Tournament for the second year now and raised over $178.
  • Ella McNeal from 2009 Elite Navy raised $240 selling bracelets.
  • Jake Clifton and Nicholas Hammond from 2007 Elite put on a school clinic and made $220.
  • Landon Boland (‘09) and Isabella’s (‘07) Boland collected 29 pairs of shoes and 8 pairs of shin guards from the Holy Redeemer soccer program.

We love the creativity and these amazing stories!  There are many, many others out there. Please email your stories, videos and pictures to Ken Goday at kgodat@slsgsoccer.com.

At the tournament, we collected about 300 pairs of shoes and 100 balls and gear that will go to our spring Upper 90 Missions to benefit Haiti, Zambia, and here locally in St. Louis.  Our pod was emptied for the Honduras Mission in November, so this replenishes our stock for the spring.

Our Upper 90 Holiday Adopt-a-Family online donation link is up to $2,300, our goal is $3,000 with a few days to go (12/4). This money will go directly to our Upper 90 Adopt-a-Family Program and will specifically be used to help families this holiday with extreme financial needs. The families are from Mathews Dickey Boys and Girls Club, Marygrove and Nahed Chapman New American Academy.  Donate online link - https://pledgeit.org/upper-90-adopt-a-family-2019/

We will do it all again this spring at the Champions Cup which is a celebration of our Living Legacy Scholarship program. Please mark your team calendar for April 10th!
